My ANTM Addiction Starts Here

Anne Hathaway is nominated for her first Oscar for ‘Rachel Getting Married’. She won’t win, but she’s excellent as recovering drug addict Kym. I’ve been a fan of her back when she was sugary sweet Hathaway… So, I figured I’d raise a poll. Who is your favorite Hathaway screen partner? The truth is, she’s never really been given the opportunity to shine until this year.   Even in 2008, with her first real gritty role (I’m excluding Havoc because I heard it’s mostly tits and I haven’t seen it), she’s still slightly outdone by Rosemarie Dewitt, in my opinion. Still, you can’t deny that Hathaway has ’something’ in every movie, whether it’s undeniable charm or presence when needed. In her big screen breakthrough, she managed to keep up with the effortlessly wonderful Julie Andrews. She’s been showing incredible promise as a dramatic actress since 2005 when she was in Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain. Smallest part, huge impact. In fluffy comedies like 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada, she was outdone by heavyweight Meryl Streep and relative newcomer Emily Blunt, but was she BAD? Not in my opinion.  We’ve seen her strengthen as an actress in both her comedic and dramatic roles and I long for the day when she is finally movie MVP. It’s coming. I can feel it. So really, I guess the question should be ‘Favorite Hathaway pairing’, as in ‘Who did she rock it with the most?’. I’ve included all of her major pairings in the poll, even Kate Hudson in Bride Wars, though I certainly hope nobody wasted their money on that shitfest.
